are we a perfect match?

are you getting married? (or helping someone plan their wedding? #teamwork)

1.

let's start with an easy one

are we a perfect match?

do you think first impressions are important, even for your wedding?

2.

are we a perfect match?

Do you want something COMPLETELY unique, maybe even a bit unconventional in terms of materials and style?

3.

are we a perfect match?

last question! Are you cool with me taking your ideas and running with them to create something incredible for your wedding?

4.

are we a perfect match?

did you say yes?

If so, we're probably the perfect pair! Lets go crazy and make something fun!

yes!

1.

why custom?

Every detail of your wedding has been carefully planned and designed to fit your style and personality perfectly, so why stop at invitations?? I'll walk you through the process and work with you to create an invitation suite that will be perfect for you.
And let's be honest, deep down you KNOW they matter. If they didn't, you'd just send an email! rather than trying to dig through page after page of invitation designs that all look the same, and then figure out postage and etiquette and how to put it all together, Going the custom route guarantees that the finished product will be special and truly unique to you!

2.

why The Columbus Calligrapher?

There are a lot of options for where to order your wedding stationery, but The Columbus Calligrapher is a little different. Rather than just designing stationery, or just providing calligraphy services,  you get the best of both worlds! By doing both, it's you're one-stop shop for all of your wedding stationery and calligraphy needs! This way, you spend less time stressing about checking off items on your to-do list, and more time enjoying being engaged.

3.

why shop with a small business?

In a word, it's personal. By working with a small business, not only do you have a personal connection with someone from beginning to end, you also have someone to help you through the maze of options and components of wedding stationery.
And with me, you get another person who is counting down the days with you and can't wait to see your big day come together. Getting to know TCC couples is my favorite part of my job, so I love it when couples share their wedding photos with me and keep in touch after the big day!

the process

1. Coffee date

The first step is a design consultation where we'll have the chance to meet and get to know each other. I love getting to know the couples I work with, and hearing about your wedding plans, how you met, how you got engaged, and what makes you guys unique! Before we meet, I'll send you a questionnaire that will help me get a good starting point and some inspiration for your wedding stationery. Tell me all about your hobbies, your work, your pets, anything and everything that's important to you!

let's get coffee!

the process

Let's get to know each other! One of my favorite parts of working in the wedding industry is getting to know the couples I work with. Before we start on your invitation suite, we'll get coffee and I can learn about your vision for your wedding and what makes you unique as a couple.

I'll deliver one hard copy proof, assembled just as your guests will receive them! (Just a note, for some printing processes, this might not be possible) After this, you'll check to make sure all the spelling and wording is correct before your invitations are printed. Once you've approved the design, it will take between 6 and 8 weeks to complete your invites!

This is the fun part! Once your invitations are printed, I'll get to work on addressing the envelopes and assembling your invitation suites. When it's done, you'll receive a box of fully assembled, ready to mail invitations.

what does custom mean?

When you choose custom invitations, it really means custom. The possibilities are pretty much limitless when it comes to invitation suites! We can go way beyond what you normally see for wedding invitations. Whether you're hoping for engraved acrylic, wood, or silk, or a pop up invitation card spelling out your names, we'll come up with something that is so perfectly you. it will be a treasured keepsake for years to come. (I'm obsessed with true crime, so I'm dying for someone to want a true crime inspired crest! #dreambig)
So let's get creative!

• Custom design consultation
• Specially designed calligraphy for your invitations
• Envelope addressing
• Assembly and postage
• One all-inclusive cost for materials, design, printing, assembly, and calligraphy

Because of the wide variety of materials, print methods, and  fun extras in each custom invitation suite, the cost and turnaround time can vary greatly. When we meet, we'll go over different options and narrow down what best fits your needs; so you can not only stay on budget, but also get the perfect invitation suite that will act as your personal wedding hype man when it arrives in your guests mailbox. Typically, couples spend about $2400 for 100 invitation suites.

What's included?

When we work together on your custom invitations, it's an all inclusive experience. That means that I'll handle all the details. Confused about printing methods? I'll talk you through it. Worried about postage costs? I got you covered. Absolutely no idea how to assemble invitations or add wax seals? That's my favorite part!  Here's some of the perks of going the custom route:

2. Details

After we meet, I'll get to work!  I"ll put together a proposal of my own for you. Based on what we discuss, I'll give you all the details on things like paper options, printing types available, and colors. Once we finish the paperwork, I'll design your suite!

3. proofs

Down to the details! I'll send you a detailed proof that will cover all the bases. From paper selections to postage design, and calligraphy styles, this is where we'll tweak the final designs and make it perfect.

This is my favorite part! Getting to see your suite come together with all the little details is so exciting for me. After all the work and care that's gone into creating the perfect heirloom piece, I finally get to see it all together, carefully assembled and addressed with hand written calligraphy.

4. Finishing touches and assembly

or do you want to skip to the good stuff? no time to waste!

After we meet, I'll get to work! Based on what we discussed during our meeting, I'll put together a rough estimate of the cost of your invitation suite (the average TCC couple spends about $2300 on 100 suites). Once that's ready, I'll send you a link to my secure client portal, where you can see all of our emails and forms in one place. Once you sign a contract and pay a retainer, I'll put together a design concept that I think you'll love. From there we can add other finishing touches and extras before finalizing the design

wanna find out about the "spécialité de la maison?"

did you know that your suite helps the rainforest?

want to snag one of the last spots on my calendar?
get in touch!

spécialité de la maison

what is a "spécialité de la maison?" you may be asking? it means the house specialty, what the chef is the best at. For me, that's full service weddings. i'm not an event designer or planner by any means. What I mean by full service, is taking care of the paper details from beginning to end. maybe a good name for it would be 'full service detail arrangement.' From your save the dates to thank you notes, welcome bags, itineraries, programs, table numbers, favor tags, and every and any other little custom detail you can imagine. Not only does this ensure that all the details of your wedding are cohesive, but also that I get to work with you closely through the whole planning process, getting to know you as a friend, not just a client!

because of the amount of work that goes into full service weddings, I only take on a select few events each year. if you're interested in getting one of those spots, get in touch as soon as you can! a typical full service wedding will cost $3,000+

here are some of the items that are typically included:
• save the dates
• invitations
• rehearsal dinner seating charts/menus/place cards
• welcome bag itineraries and tags
• custom monogram or crest
• all wedding signage and illustration
• place cards, seating charts, table numbers, menus, etc.
• thank you stationery

i want in!
